Due to being swapped with work and last minute checks for the BeatReview.com festival on Monday I wasn’t able to bring you number 2 of the Spotify Find Of The Week articles so here is 2 picks for you this week. I am in love with a lot of Swedish bands at the moment so both bands are from there!
Palpitation
Palpitation is a two piece (Maria Vejde, Ebba Carlén and sometimes with friends,) indie twee band from Sweden. They create upbeat music with gloomy undertones fused with husky, grated vocals. The mixture leads to music that is “love at first listen”, perfect for those drab Sundays where you sit and look out the window and watch the world go by slowly. They released I’m happy now EP in 2008, and in April 2010 their self-titled album Palpitation was released on Luxury Records.
Their latest album, I’m Absent, You’re Faraway was released in June 2011. http://palpitation.se
The Concept
The Concept is a new Swedish Stockholm based indie band formed by band members to Robyn, Tove Styrke and Veronica Maggio – in 2011.
After getting support from the important Swedish alternative, national radio channel P3, they soon made an impression in the Swedish live music scene with a peak last summer at the Peace & Love festival.
The band writes, records and produces all music themselves and has so far also made their own videos and photos.
The Concept’s popularity is growing fast in many countries, with USA leading the way. so the plan now for the band is to go to the States to follow up the success with a round of live shows and long lead promotion before the debut album, which if all goes well will be released before Christmas 2012.
