Various Cruelties

Formed back in late 2010, this exciting, upcoming four piece alternative band based in London/Leeds have a bright future ahead. Already on the road for their April Tour across the UK, they have impressed a wide based audience.

This phenomenal band have embraced soul into their alternative and well composed songs that seem to almost ‘seduce’ me into completely falling head over heels for them. Having only released two singles (Chemicals and Great Unknown), they have already created a great profile for themselves. The light-hearted melodies with the distinct ‘soul’ voice of frontman Liam O’Donnell have attracted a wide fanbase after opening for Kasabian at a couple of dates on their recent tour, and appearing on ‘Later With Jools Holland’. Having only recently finding out about them, they have shot into my top 10 favourite bands, which is astonishing seeing as their album isn’t released until April 30th. Songs such as ‘If it wasn’t for you’ and ‘she is the one’ give off strong 60’s inspired vibes, teamed with electrifying, modern twists that make this album worth listening to! The four piece band has an amazing chemistry and their album is one that I am looking forward to! I strongly recommend pre-ordering their album off itunes, and all the tracks from their self-titled album are available to preview.

you summed it up quite well. they’re really soulful and bluesy. the album is great, especially the two songs you named – my faves.
